2011,  BS, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bilkent University

Filiz graduated from Bilkent University in 2011 with a B.S. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, ranking first in the Engineering Faculty. She did her internship in Troyka Med in the summer of 2010 and collaborated with the UMRAM group on catheter construction for ablation and Tx-Rx switch construction using lumped elements instead of quarter wavelength transmission line. She did her senior project with Prof. Ergin Atalar on imaging of shear waves caused by both focused ultrasound waves and a mechanical actuator. She joined the MRI Group in MIT in the summer of 2011 and since then she has been working with Prof. Elfar Adalsteinsson. She is the recipient of Merrill Lynch Fellowship in MIT. Her current research interest is magnetic resonance excitation pulse design for parallel transmission systems.
