He completed his master\u2019s (2005) and doctoral (2009) studies at Stanford University with his \u201cStanford Graduate Fellowship\u201d scholarship. He carried out postdoc studies in University of California at Berkeley\u00a0 (2010-2013) at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute. He has been working as a faculty member in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University since 2013 and is also affiliated with\u00a0 the National Magnetic Resonance Research Center (UMRAM) and Aysel Sabuncu Brain Research Center.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Cukur also received\u00a0 2017 IEEE Turkey Research Incentive Award, 2017 Academy of Sciences BAGEP award,\u00a0 2017 Young Scientist Award from Science Heroes Association,\u00a0 2015 TUBA-GEBIP award, 2015 EMBO Installation Grant, and\u00a0 2013 Marie Curie Reintegration Grant.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. \u00c7ukur\u2019s research focuses on innovative biomedical imaging, machine and deep learning techniques in biology and medicine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UMRAM and Electrical and Electronics Engineering faculty member, Dr. Tolga Cukur has been promoted to Associate Professor.
