Benay Başkurt was an undergraduate student at the Department of Psychology, Bilkent University. She worked on neural synchrony and asynchrony under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Aaron Clarke by using electroencephalography on human observers.

She is currently a research assistant in the Laboratory of Psychophysics under the supervision of Prof. Michael Herzog, in Brain Mind Institute at EPFL, Switzerland.

As of October 2018, she will be a M.Sc. student at International Max Planck Research School for Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience in Tübingen, Germany.
