New publication in IBRO Neuroscience Reports: Selection of appropriate reference genes in Apoe-/- mouse brain

Michelle M. Adams and colleagues have published “Selection of appropriate reference genes in Apoe-/- mouse brain” in IBRO Neuroscience Reports (April 2026).

Gene expression measurements by qPCR depend on reference genes whose activity stays stable. The study tested six commonly used reference genes in three brain regions of normal and Apoe-deficient mice fed a standard or a Western diet, to find which ones are reliable. Choosing the right reference genes makes brain studies in this widely used mouse model more accurate.
